Kidnapped Serbians are "alive, held in Sabratha"

Two Serbian embassy employees kidnapped in Libya on Sunday are held in a house "on the outskirts of the town of Sabratha," a Belgrade daily writes on Wednesday.

However, noted the report, "the release of the two Serbian citizens is made difficult by the kidnappers' constantly changing demands."

The incident on Sunday happened as Serbian Ambassador to Libya Oliver Potezica decided to travel to Tunisia with his family, in order to evacuate them.

The convoy of vehicles was intercepted in Sabratha when liaison officer Sladjana Stankovic and driver Jovica Stepic were kidnapped.

The newspaper said it is "believed" that criminal groups with ties to police factions are behind the incident, while their demands "concern money and weapons."
