Belgrade and Pristina teams meet, won't make statements

B92's reporter in Brussels said this afternoon that teams of Belgrade and Pristina are discussing four topics: the future community of Serb municipalities, telecommunications, energy, and Peace Park on the bridge that separates the northern and southern part of Kosovska Mitrovica.

Participants in the talks will not make any statements - in fact, they are prohibited from addressing the public. This is the case because of recent statements made by Kosovo Minister for Dialogue with Belgrade Edita Tahiri, who after the previous round of negotiations said that "Kosovo will be given an international dialing code through a request submitted by Austria."

Serbian Government's Office for Kosovo and Metohija Director Marko Djuric reacted to this by saying that the southern Serbian province cannot be given this code "without the approval of Serbia."

That is why EU officials barred dialogue participants from giving any statements until prime ministers Aleksandar Vucic and Isa Mustafa arrive in Brussels.

They will join the talks on Tuesday, and, according to some media, "the European Union will ask them to sign documents which will provide for further implementation of the Brussels agreement."
