Switzerland denies Serbia requested Oric's extradition

Oric is wanted in Serbia on charges of war crimes and was arrested on a Serbia warrant. However, Swiss Federal Office of Justice official Folco Galli told the paper that no official extradition request has arrived from Belgrade to date.

According to the article, the Swiss official "in this way denied Bosnian Presidency member Bakir Izetbegovic's claims" - he last week said that the Serbian Justice Ministry on June 12 sent the extradition request to Switzerland.

Galli also told the daily that Oric will remain in prison until Switzerland decides whether to extradite him to Serbia. There is no deadline to make this decision, but Serbia has 18 days to send the request.

Oric was arrested on June 10.
