FM: Resolution on Srebrenica presented to Serbia

Serbia will carefully consider the text of the resolution and govern itself by national interests, without calling into doubt the commitment to punishment of war crimes," Dacic told a regular press conference.

"Supposedly, the goal of the resolution is the reconciliation process, but the text contains 20 references to genocide and one to reconciliation," Dacic said.

He added that "pending consultations with other Security Council member states are expected to go ahead on Tuesday."

"We will see how the consultations will proceed, and our position will be very clear after a detailed examination of the text" Dacic said.

"By its example, Serbia has demonstrated a commitment to the fight to punish all war crimes," Dacic said, adding that all crimes must be punished, in particular in view of the numerous crimes against Serbs.

"Taking into account Serbia's commitment to sanctioning of war crimes, it is clear the government will defend national and state interests when it comes to this topic," he stressed.

"Unilateral moves"

Ivica Dacic said on Sunday that he does not believe that Hungary will make any unilateral moves regarding the increased number of migrants.

Commenting on a recent announcement by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban that Hungary could close the border with Serbia completely due to an increased influx of migrants, Dacic told a regular press conference that the relations between the two countries are friendly and that he does not believe that unilateral moves will be made.

The problem that Hungary is facing is big, but Serbia has the same problem, Dacic said, adding that no one can push the problem onto Serbia alone as most migrants cross into Serbia from the EU.

Serbian police are cooperating with their colleagues from the region and Germany and Austria, but, apparently, the inflow of migrants is very high and it is very difficult to stop it, Dacic said.

"By that I do not mean people who have been stopped in Serbia. Asylum seekers in Serbia are mostly illegal migrants who have been stopped on their way to Western Europe and who request asylum when you stop them," Dacic said.

The foreign minister also announced a joint session of the Hungarian and Serbian governments, to be held on July 1 in Budapest. (end) ljm/rd
