The Serbian parliament has adopted a special law (lex specialis) for the Belgrade Waterfront project.

Belgrade Waterfront lex specialis passes in parliament

The law, which names Belgrade Waterfront a project of special importance for Serbia and Belgrade, was passed by 176 in favor, nine against and no abstention votes late on Thursday.

The project provides for building more than one million square meters of living space, 750,000 square meters of office and commercial space, more than 62,000 square meters of public buildings, schools, cultural institutions and approximately 242,000 square meters of new green areas, on an area totaling about 177 hectares, the agency said.
