The Russian side will do everything to ensure the necessary quantities of gas as previously arranged and provide Serbia with a stable supply during the winter.

Ministers "make arrangements for safe gas supply"

Antić informed his Russian colleague that Serbia's energy balances have changed due to major floods which hit the country, Tanjug reported.

The two energy ministers discussed the Petroleum Industry of Serbia (NIS) and agreed that both sides need to be more engaged in the implementation of the NIS development strategy, especially in the area that covers future investments.

Antić and Novak also discussed the debt of the Serbian chemical industry toward energy companies and agreed that a fiscal consolidation plan and the strategy for fuel supply need to be drawn up.

They harmonized the stands on a memorandum in the sector of energy efficiency, energy preservation and renewable energy sources which will be signed in the course of the forthcoming visit of the Russian president to Serbia.

Antić is staying in Moscow with the Serbian delegation headed by Foreign Minister Ivica Dačić attending the eighth session of the Intergovernmental committee on trade, economic and scientific and technical cooperation between Serbia and the Russian Federation.
