Yuriy Lutsenko, who serves as adviser to Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko, took to his Facebook account to announce that the country "will receive military advisers and weapons from the United States, France, Italy, Poland and Norway."

This will happen "in accordance with an agreement reached at the NATO summit," he added. The defense ministries of the United States, Italy, Poland and Norway, quickly denied this, according to Reuters.

American officials insist that they did not offer any "lethal weapons" to Ukraine, as did a representative of the Italian ministry of defense, stating that his country plans to send equipment such as bulletproof vests and helmets.
