TENT A power plant resumes operations

The Block A1 at TENT A has an output of 150 megawatts today, Serbia’s Energy and Mining Minister Aleksandar Antić said after the plant was put back in operation, which he attended together with Acting Director of Electric Power Industry of Serbia (EPS) Aleksandar Obradović.

Antić said activities to put Block 3 back in operation will start tomorrow, and when that is done, TENT A should be able to generate 500 to 600 megawatts of electricity.

TENT A has six blocks and a total output of 1,650 megawatts, generating about 30 percent of Serbia’s electricity.

In these difficult circumstances after the massive flooding, the employees in TENT and the EPS succeeded in putting TENT A back in operation in record time, Antić said, thanking them for that.

The minister pointed out that the resumption of operations at the power plant will improve the current energy situation in Serbia, reducing imports of electricity, which went beyond EUR 5 million during the flooding in the last ten days.
