BELGRADE The decision of the General Affairs Council of the Council of the European Union to launch Serbia's EU accession talks in January is "great news for Serbia." It offers a chance for the country to finally focus on systemic reforms, Vice President of the opposition Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) Ivan Andric said. LDP: EU decision great news for Serbia “I believe that the accession talks and the process itself need to be used to turn Serbia into a better, safer and more developed country in terms of economy and economic safety,” said Andric, who is co-chairing the Serbian parliament Committee for Stabilization and Association together with Eduard Kukan. He noted that the negotiations need to be used to the maximum and that certain benefits need to be derived for Serbian citizens and all those in charge of European integration process.
