Asked whether it is true that the U.S. is lobbying for Serbia to get the date, Vucic said that he believes that the Americans know very well how important Serbia is in the Balkans and how much it has done. “They have finally got partners who do not cheat or lie and who are ready to take heavy blows and fulfill their duties believing that the other side will fulfill its duties as well,” Vucic said, adding that he believes that the Russian partners will welcome the achievement of the date as well. In reaction to a statement that the current Serbian government in now burdened with everything that has been done in the last 20 years, Vucic said that nevertheless that needs to be resolved. “Now we have to pay for it all - Kosovo, corruption, public debt,” Vucic said, adding that for instance there are no problems with liquidity and export, which is higher than ever. The import is almost completely covered by the export, the industrial production will increase, but there is a problem with the height of the public debt and the fiscal deficit, Vucic said.
