EULEX has stated that a mixed team made up of the mission's Prosecution Office and the local prosecutor will investigate what caused the fire in Žilivode.

BELGRADE EULEX has stated that a mixed team made up of the mission's Prosecution Office and the local prosecutor will investigate what caused the fire in Zilivode. The authorities believe that remains of 26 Serbs who went missing in 1998 were buried at the location. The report will be made after the investigation and conclusions released. The cause of the fire which broke out last weekend in Zilivode is still unknown. The families of persons kidnapped or gone missing in Kosovo believe that somebody purposefully set the fire at the site in order to destroy the evidence about the existence of a mass grave in Zilivode holding the remains of 26 Serb civilians, including nine miners from the Belacevac coal mines who were kidnapped in 1998.
