Speaker Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic says that an agreement was reached with the OSCE about the holding of presidential and parliamentary elections in Kosovo. The agreement does not pertain to local elections, she explained. Serbia, OSCE "reach agreement on elections in Kosovo" Djukic-Dejanovic, who is also a top Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) official and Serbia's acting president, spoke during a May Day event in Kragujevac, organized by her party. According to her, the OSCE will have "a high degree of responsibility", while "our citizens in Kosovo and Metohija, too, should make a special contribution to a peaceful realization of election activities for the president of the republic and parliament." "The Republic Election Commission and representatives of the OSCE have worked intensively on a whole series of technical details in order to help the OSCE realize election activities, especially security segments, and managed to make a Protocol on Mutual Cooperation," Djukic-Dejanovic further said. She noted that "the composition of people at polling stations in Kosovo will be combined", and that the counting of votes will "most likely" take place in central Serbia, in the Raska District. Djukic-Dejanovic also stated that elections in Kosovo and Metohija will on May 6 take place in 90 polling stations, located both in the Serb-majority north, and south of the Ibar River where Serbs live in isolated enclaves.
