RSK's Martić transferred to Estonia

Former Republic of Serb Krajina President Milan Martić has been transferred from the Hague Tribunal to Estonia, where he is due to serve a 35-year prison term.

Former Republic of Serb Krajina President Milan Martic has been transferred from the Hague Tribunal to Estonia, where he is due to serve a 35-year prison term. The Hague Tribunal sentenced Martic to 35 years in prison on June 12, 2007, for crimes against humanity and violating the rules and customs of war, including persecution, murder, torture, deportation and attacks on civilians, and deliberate destruction of civilian regions in Croatia between 1991 and 1994. RSK's Martic transferred to Estonia According to a statement from the tribunal, the former RSK president was found guilty of a joint criminal enterprise, whose goal was the creation of an ethnically pure, Serb territory, through the violent deportation of the non-Serb population that inhabited the regions under his control. Martic was also convicted of war crimes in the villages of Hrvatska Dubica, Bacin, Saborsko, Lipovaca and elsewhere, as well as of attacks on Zagreb on May 2 and 3, 1995, the statement adds.
