Now that the new Kosovo passports are available, UNMIK will stop issuing its own passports, says an spokesman for the UN mission. At a press conference in Pristina, Russell Geekie said that it was “impossible to continue issuing travel documents, now that the Kosovo Interior Ministry has begun issuing Republic of Kosovo passports. UNMIK passports will remain valid until their original expiry date.“ UNMIK to stop issuing passports MUP Kosovo announced this week that they had started receiving applications for the new travel documents, and that applications would take a week to process.
