Serb judicial workers in Kosovska Mitrovica are protesting in front of the courthouse today. They are demanding to return to their offices, after being driven out with the arrival of UNMIK and KFOR to the province in August 1999. Serb judicial workers continue protest District Prosecutor Milan Bigovic told reporters this morning that the judges and other judicial staff, which started their daily protest on Feb. 21, will continue to peacefully express their dissatisfaction this week as well. Bigovic also said a legal team will in the coming days complete collecting statements from the 53 workers who were arrested and then released by UNMIK and KFOR on March 17, after a raid that sparked deadly violence in the divided northern Kosovo town. There were no incidents today. The Municipal and District Court building in Kosovska Mitrovica is secured by Portuguese KFOR troops.

Serb judicial workers continue protest

District Prosecutor Milan Bigović told reporters this morning that the judges and other judicial staff, which started their daily protest on Feb. 21, will continue to peacefully express their dissatisfaction this week as well.
