Election Council to discuss appeals

Appeals on the decisions of the council can be submitted as of 3 pm to the constitutional court and the deadline for appealing will be 24 hours.

The Council has already disregarded about 230 complaints filed by the unionist bloc, mostly related to polling stations and voting documentation.

The bloc stated that it would not file complaints to the constitutional court, but did not exclude the possibility of individual citizens doing so.

“We will see if citizens will file complaints to the constitutional court. If there are no complaints, then the referendum commission should be able to confirm the results of the referendum by Tuesday night.” Gošovic said.

According to the preliminary results, 55.5 per cent of participating voters supported Montenegrin independence, which is enough for the referendum to be deemed successful.
