"Milosevics should be left to the past"

This should be left to the past, said Dacic, Serbia's foreign minister who is also the leader of the SPS, the party Milosevic founded and led until his death.

In his statement to RTS, Dacic said that one should turn to the future.

He confirmed that in recent years, his relationship with Markovic was not "particularly good" - but that "despite that he offered his ccondolences to her family on behalf of the SPS."

"Our position is to leave the past and look to the future, because, in the end, history will eventually have the final say," Dacic remarked.

Markovic died last Sunday in Moscow, where she was cremated on Thursday.

The urn with the ashes will be laid tomorrow in Pozarevac, eastern Serbia, in the yard of the family house where Slobodan Milosevic was buried.
