The agency said that it learned unofficially that the decision had been signed by European Commission President Jean Claude Juncker.

Serbian PM Ana Brnabic commented on the decision today to say that it had "enormous significance" for the country and the steel mill in Smederevo.

"This is a huge victory for Serbia and all of us. This is a very rare decision where a country is excluded from anti-dumping measures. Serbia is the only such country," she told Tanjug.

Reuters is reporting on Friday that the European Union has decided to set duties on hot-rolled steel from Brazil, Iran, Russia and Ukraine after a complaint by EU manufacturers that the product used for construction and machinery was being sold at excessively low prices.
