A drug 800 times more potent that marijuana has been found in Serbia, the Interior Ministry has announced.

"Drug 800 times more potent than marijuana found in Serbia"

Jelena Jankovic, head of the Health Ministry's center for early warning about new psychoactive substances, told Blic on Wednesday that this was "globally important news," because "all EU countries would receive this information from Serbia via the early warning system."

According to her, the drug will be placed on the list of banned psychoactive substances immediately in Serbia, while other countries are expected to do the same.

So far, 134 types of synthetic cannabinoids have been registered in the EU. These drugs are most often produced in China and India and then packaged in Europe, Jankovic explained.
