IMF chief found guilty, faces no penalty
However, the court has decided against imposing any penalty or opening a criminal record for Lagarde. An IMF spokeserson said that top IMF officials would meet soon, while her lawyer said the court's judgment would be appealed.
Nevertheless, Lagarde is now expected to be forced to leave the helm of the IMF.
Reuters is reporting on Monday that the judgment could cause a new crisis in the Fund's management, after Lagarde's predecessor Director Dominique Strauss-Kahn resigned in 2011 over a scandal involving sexual assault.
