The United States of America has conveyed through diplomatic channels that it does not want and will not enter into a direct confrontation with Russia.
They also added that they will not send military experts to Ukraine in connection with the delivery of the Patriot air defense system, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
"We asked the Americans through diplomatic channels, which our embassy in the US still maintains, whether the decision to send the Patriot systems to Ukraine means that U.S. experts will also be there, given the complexity of the work of these systems. It was explained to us in detail that it was not planned especially because the Americans do not want and will not directly clash with Russia," Lavrov told TASS.
He added that the "Patriot" systems will be deployed within a few months, but only after the Ukrainian soldiers become familiar with this technology. Previously, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia will destroy the "Patriot" systems if Washington delivers them to Kyiv.
He noted that "Patriot" is similar to the Russian air defense system S-300 and pointed out that the Russian forces will find an effective "antidote" for that weapon.
