Celebrations in Paris and other cities in France after the French football team won the World Cup title in Russia turned into riots and clashes with the police.Source: B92
Social networks are full of images and footage of ugly scenes, showing fans in Paris flip over cars, loot stores, and throw rocks and bottles at police officers.
It all started when France took the lead (thanks to an own goal by Croatia) and escalated at the end, when the team won 4-2, having at one point been 4-1 ahead of Croatia.

The French police had to use tear gas, rubber bullets, and water cannons to control the crowds. Special police vehicles used for breaking up demonstrations were also deployed.
So far there have been no official reports about any injuries or material damage, which, at least judging by the footage, must be considerable.
There was chaos on Sunday evening in other French towns where the victory was celebrated.
