Seehofer said the main goals of the "migration master plan" was rapid deportation of people living in Germany whose asylum applications have been rejected, those who are already registered for asylum in another European country, and those with a criminal record.

He said the new plan also envisions placing all asylum seekers in centers where their applications would be processed, the AP is reporting.

According to the plan, asylum seekers who were previously registered in another EU country will be directly returned to the country where they first entered the EU, most often Greece and Italy.
