61 more were injured when the bomb went off.
According to the BBC, Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the killings, saying its members targeted "a gathering of Shia."
Three more people died in a separate car bomb attack on Monday near a hospital.
The first attack took place as French President Francois Hollande was visiting Baghdad, and according to media reports earlier in the day, the victims were "mostly journalists waiting to enter Sadr City."
On Saturday, a total of 29 people died in three bomb explosions in Iraq's capital.
