Vucic's "buddy" Giuliani seen as U.S. secretary of state

Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani is now "a leading candidate to be U.S. secretary of state" in the administration of President Donald Trump.

Vucic's "buddy" Giuliani seen as U.S. secretary of state

Former U.S. Ambassador to the UN John Bolton "was also under consideration" for the post, the agency said.

Giuliani is described as "one of Trump's most vocal and high-profile supporters on the campaign trail."

In one of his first reactions to Trump's victory last week, Serbian PM Aleksandar Vucic referred to Giuliani as "his buddy".

"There's my buddy Giuliani, who supported Belgrade Waterfront when he was (here). He is likely to get an important role in the U.S. establishment. I have many friends on the other side too, I'm not renouncing them. I thank (Joseph) Biden, who is always welcome, he is a true friend," Vucic said last Wednesday, according to media reports.

Giuliani was in Belgrade in April 2012, at the invitation of Vucic's SNS, at the time an opposition party.
