AFP said in its report that Juncker in this way "teased Orban over his strongman reputation."

This happened as the Hungarian premier arrived at an EU summit in Riga, Latvia.

According to the agency, reporters said they "had not been able to hear what Orban had said in reply, if anything, but Juncker was clearly in a playful mood."

Juncker's office said they "had not heard what he said to Orban."

Orban on Monday addressed the European Parliament and insisted that Hungary has the right to limit the number of immigrants, and also spoke in favor of reintroducing the death penalty.
