Previously, the parliament adopted a statement on "Russian aggression in Ukraine" which "opens the door to consequences according to international law."

RT is reporting that Ukranian MPs also signed a statement sent to leading European and global international organizations, urging them to follow suit.

They decided to suggest to President Petro Poroshenko to declare a state of war that would last "until the armed Russian aggression against Ukraine ends."

Previously a state of emergency was introduced in the east, where Ukrainian government forces are fighting against pro-Russian forces.

The statement also appealed to foreign partners to send military assistance to Ukraine "so it could increase its defense capacity," as well as "humanitarian assistance for civilians" in the warzones.

The Ukrainian parliament also concluded that the international community should consider the Donetsk and Lugansk people's republics as terrorist organizations.

Putin slams Ukrainian forces as "NATO legion"
