The decision was made by the organization's Permanent Council.

It has been stated that U.S. Ambassador to the OSCE Daniel Baer expressed his discontent that "because of Russian pressure" the mission is limited to only two control points a few hundred meters wide.

Moscow on Monday invited the OSCE to monitor the border "as a sign of good will."

Baer believes, it has been stated, that the mission will not be able to see "the true state of illegal flow of weapons, funds and manpower from Russia."
