Government "committed to preserving cultural heritage"

The prime minister expressed her gratitude to the organisation for the partnership and support provided to the Republic of Serbia in the preservation of cultural heritage, especially on cooperation within the framework of the UNESCO Protection of Cultural and Historical Heritage in Kosovo and Metohija.

Brnabic and the delegation of Europa Nostra assessed that the commitment of the Serbian government to culture and the preservation of cultural and historical heritage is evident.

This is best demonstrated by the fact that in 2018 the European Commission and Europa Nostra, out of a total of 29 awards for the protection, research and promotion of cultural heritage given to 17 countries of the world, gave Serbia as many as three.

The plans for the construction of a gondola lift at the Belgrade Fortress were also discussed, and the Prime Minister pointed out that the competent institutions of the Republic of Serbia will pay full attention to this project implemented by the City of Belgrade, stressing that the Belgrade Fortress is a cultural monument of great importance for our country.

Also, the importance of preserving and reconstructing the Vinca site, located near Belgrade, was highlighted, as it as a gem of both Serbian and European archaeological heritage.

Representatives of Europa Nostra praised Brnabic's commitment to the preservation of cultural heritage and stressed that she is one of the few prime ministers in the world who have included culture among priorities of her work
