German police tweet in Cyrillic ahead of football game
Serbia's FC Red Star (Crvena Zvezda) beat Germany's FC Cologne 1-0 in UEFA's Europa League Round 2 tie on Thursday.
Source: B92, TanjugTanjug is reporting that another football club from the Serbian capital Belgrade, Partizan FC, lost their game 3-2 at home to FC Dynamo Kiev, in a game played in the same competition.
There was tension in Cologne throughout the day on Thursday due to a large number of Red Star fans arriving in the town for the game. This led to a large number of police being deployed in the streets, and reports of arrests and minor incidents.
But the local police found a way to communicate with the guests by posting two messages on Twitter, partially in Serbian.
The first, translated literally, reads, "It's not as relaxed as this everywhere."
A second tweet combines hashtags, street names in German, and the words "closed between" in Serbian, to announce that the streets in question had been shut down at the time.
