Large hailstones seem to have done the most damage in Pancevo and its surroundings, where windows and glass have been smashed on cars and greenhouses.

Pancevo residents posted images on Twitter showing the size of hailstones. Others posted videos on YouTube of a funnel cloud forming during the storm.

The Automobile and Motorcycle Association of Serbia (AMSS) reminded drivers that they should stop their vehicles in the nearest parking lot or a safe place near the road during strong rainstorms and hailstorms.

Monday's heavy storm in Belgrade was the second in as many days.

Forecasters said that weather will be cloudy with sunny intervals in Serbia on Tuesday, with local showers and thunderstorms in some areas in the afternoon and evening. Belgrade will see similar weather, with temperatures ranging from 18 to 27 degrees Celsius.
