The Turkish Boeing 737-800 jet was heading to Munich after taking off in Antalya.

The 60-year-old passenger received emergency medical assistance and all relevant airport services followed procedures, said a statement submitted to Tanjug.

The Munich-bound jet will continue its journey once the required conditions are in place, the statement also said.

Later in the day, daily Blic reported that the passenger who was taken ill - a Turkish - had died.

The incident happened just a day after a Turkish Airlines plane was forced to make an emergency landing at the Belgrade airport due to a suspicious mobile phone found on board.
