17 weeks later, on November 5, 2012, Djokovic returned to the throne, where he remained for the 48 weeks to follow, until October 6, 2013. Then he handed the reigning spot over to Rafael Nadal until July 7, 2014, when he got back on top, where he has remained for 99 weeks now, poised to stay there for the long haul.

The Serb moved to fifth all-time for most weeks at No. 1 in November 2015, and is trailing behind Federer, Jimmy Connors (268), Ivan Lendl (270) and Pete Sampras (286). If he keeps up his present pace, in about two years, Djokovic could become the No. 1 of all-time.

When it comes to other Serbians in this week's rankings, Viktor Troicki is at No. 24 with 1,535 points, Dusan Lajovic is at No. 81, Filip Krajinovic is at No. 102, Pedja Krstin is at No. 168, and Djere Laslo, who qualified for the Roland Garros main draw this year, holds the spot number 215
