B92 Fund and Komercijalna bank equip another maternity ward
The donation provided the ward with all the necessary equipment.Director of the Komercijalna branch in Nis Zoran Mitic said during the ceremony he was glad the campaign went to plan and reached the town of Aleksinac, adding the bank was proud of the results achieved so far. Mitic also thanked all the clients who used cards and transactions and in that was stimulated the bank to set aside over RSD 40 million of its own funds toward donations.
He said he hoped that after Sabac, Visegradska, Knjazevac, Pozarevac, Krusevac and Gracanica, a new location would be announced soon.
Veran Matic, president of the B92 Fund Board of Directors, praised the long-standing cooperation with Komercijalna, and added:
"I believe that procuring the necessary medical equipment will significantly improve the health care of mothers and babies of this area. When we were deciding which town will be next for complete equipment, we had in mind the weak local economy unable to donate to a satisfactory level, that it has become customary for the government to have insufficient funds to fully equip maternity wards, and that this institution has experts necessary for the successful work of the gynecology and obstetrics."
Aleksinac General Hospital Director Prim. Dr. Goran Vidic thanked the Komercijalna bank and the B92 Fund for the donation, saying that the equipment received was of top quality, and that it will make a huge difference in the institution's future work.
"For our part, we will continue to improve the level of knowledge of our expers, improve infrastructure within our ability, but also educate future mothers directly and via the local media. It is our wish to make our maternity ward a good place for new life to start."
Since the beginning of the "Battle for Maternity Wards" campaign, a total of 23 institutions have been provided with medical equipment.
