This has been stated by Vyacheslav Koloskov, honorary president of the Russian Football Association and former FIFA vice-president.
He told the R Sport agency that Kosovo will not be able to join the qualifications at a later date, after the recent draw in St. Petersburg.
Previously, the media quoted president of the Kosovo Football Association, Fadil Vokri, as saying that UEFA President Michel Platini "promised him Kosovo will become a full member of FIFA early next year, and will be added to the (qualifying) group with Croatia, Turkey, Iceland, Ukraine, and Finland."
"First, Platini is yet to win the (FIFA) presidential race, and second, the draw has already been held, not by UEFA but by FIFA, and it alone has the right to decide whom to admit and whom not to admit. I think this information is not true, and it is unlikely that it came from Platini. Yet he is an experienced manager, for many years head of UEFA and for many years is vice-president of FIFA. He knows the order of things," Koloskov told Sputnik.
