The project will be financed from donations and is expected to cost over EUR 100,000, said the article, noting that the location - Usovica Peak - is at 1,375 meters above sea level.

The cross will be illuminated at night, with power generated from either the sun or the wind.

"The cross will be 33.5 meters tall, because that is how old Jesus was when he was crucified, will weigh 40 tons, and will be visible from many parts of Serbia, from Jasterbac, Rudnik, Kopaonik... the power for the illumination will be generated from solar cells or a small windmill that will be placed at the top. It's hard to say how much it will cost, certainly over EUR 100,000," said priest Ljubinko Kosic, who chairs a committee set up to build the cross.
