Serbian women's basketball team wins European Championship

Serbian women's basketball team won the European Championship title, after the girls defeated France late Sunday, by 76:68 (15:22, 18:10, 20:17, 23:19).

The team coached by Marina Maljkovic made the greatest success for women's basketball in Serbia, as this was the first gold in a big competition.

This is also the first medal after the silver at the European Championship in Israel in 1991.

Not only did the Serbian girls manage to beat France, listed as the favorite to win, but they also qualified for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

Bronze went to Spain, after the team bested Belarus, by 74:58.
