NASA has published a satellite photo showing Europe seen from space, where a huge cloud system, covering Serbia at its center, dominates.

The system has engulfed most of Europe, except Spain and Portugal, but seems to be the most concentrated above our country, and the region.

Heavy rain that has been falling for two days now resulted in the deaths of two people in Serbia - one rescuer and one citizen - and evacuation of over 500 residents.

Five cities and 16 municipalities have so far declared a state of emergency, the western and central parts being the hardest-hit by the flooding.

At the same time, some 100,000 households have been left without electricity.

Authorities are saying that rivers will continue to rise as rain is set to fall throughout the day, albeit with less intensity.

"Authorities must immediately stop pressures"

An NGO networks has demanded that the government and all relevant authorities "immediately stop the pressure on individuals, organizations and institutions."
