Even though the Serbian government decided on Thursday to postpone the implementation of the new regulation until October 1, New Health-Care Union President Živorad Mrkić says that the postponement represents only “throwing dust in the eyes of health workers”.

New Health-Care Union, Sloga Health Workers Union, Trade Union of Health Workers and Trade Union of Healthcare and Social Protection members will therefore stage a protest from 11:00 to 12:00 CET.

Mrkić told B92 that the strike will be stage in almost all health institutions in the country and that the central protest would be held in the Clinical Center of Serbia in Belgrade.

He added that patients would not be affected by the strike and that they would get an adequate medical attention.
