A girl has drowned in the Timok River near the eastern Serbian town of Zaječar. The second girl, who tried to save her friend, was saved.

A girl has drowned in the Timok River near the eastern Serbian town of Zajecar. The second girl, who tried to save her friend, was saved. Police received a call that two persons had drowned under a rubber dam on the Timok River. One girl drowns, other saved in eastern town The police patrol spotted a 14-year-old girl in the water around 150 meters downstream from the dam and pulled her out. Paramedics, who arrived to the scene in the meantime, managed to resuscitate her. The lifeless body of 13-year-old K.A. was found under the dam and the rescue teams recovered it. According to eyewitness statements, the tragedy occurred when one of the girls climbed down to the dam, slipped and fell in the water. The other girl jumped after her in an attempt to save her. B92

The police patrol spotted a 14-year-old girl in the water around 150 meters downstream from the dam and pulled her out. Paramedics, who arrived to the scene in the meantime, managed to resuscitate her.

The lifeless body of 13-year-old K.A. was found under the dam and the rescue teams recovered it.
