Vanessa Mae in Belgrade debut

Violinist Vanessa Mae, who attracts the audience worldwide by her "violin techno-acoustic fusion", made her Belgrade debut at the Belgrade Arena on Sunday.

She was accompanied by her rock band and Serbian string orchestra Metamorphosis.

Mae, once famous as a child prodigy and now an attractive, dynamic artis "gave a stunning performance which was greeted with rapturous applause", Tanjug reports.

Several thousand concert-goers had a rare opportunity to enjoy "the perfect fusion of rock and classical music".

Mae redefined musical borders by her first pop-style album "The Violin Player", which was released when she was only 16, thus introducing a fresh musical expression that combines classical violin with sounds of pop, jazz and techno.

"It is a great pleasure to be here for the first time.I am truly happy to be here with you tonight," the charismatic 32-year-old Singapore-born violinist told her audience.
