The defrocked SPC Bishop Artemije denied that he was planning to set up "a new Church on Kosovo and Metohija". The newspaper Danas writes that Artemije pointed out the rumors were part of a "media lynch" against him, conducted for months. Artemije denies plans for new church “The story about a new Church appeared before the Holy Assembly of Bishops (of the Serbian Orthodox Church-SPC), without any reason whatsoever. I’ve never told anyone that I intended to establish some kind of new church or the true St. Sava Church. That’s nonsense, and part of a media lynch that has been present for nine months, since February 11,” said Artemije. He also denied having accounts in Serbian and Greek banks, as some claim. “That’s pure slander. If that’s true, then they should provide evidence,” said Artemije. The former Bishop repeated that “he will not comply with the non-canonical decisions of the SPC" regarding his defrocking. “In front of God and the Church I am the life-long Bishop of the Diocese of Raska and Prizen,” said Artemije.
