Valley Albanians celebrate Flag Day

Bujanovac municipal officials have flown the Albanian flag above the municipal building today in celebration of the Albanian Flag Day holiday. The flag was raised next to the Serbian flag after a ceremonial session of all Albanian assembly officials in the local assembly. Valley Albanians celebrate Flag Day After the ceremony, Municipal President Shaip Kamberi told the Beta news agency that the “municipal administration decided to raise the Albanian flag on the municipal building this year in order to avoid incidents.” “The administration of the municipality has taken responsibility for the celebration of Flag Day, a national holiday for all Albanians, and the raising of the Albanian flag at the municipal building to prevent any incidents,” Kamberi said. Along with local politicians, students from the Sezai Suroi primary and secondary schools attended the Flag Day ceremony. Police forces were present in larger numbers on the streets of Bujanovac today. After the ceremony in Bujanovac, all the officials went to the neighboring municipality of Presevo, where the central festivities are being held this year.
