At a press conference in Priština, Russell Geekie said that it was “impossible to continue issuing travel documents, now that the Kosovo Interior Ministry has begun issuing Republic of Kosovo passports. UNMIK passports will remain valid until their original expiry date.“

MUP Kosovo announced this week that they had started receiving applications for the new travel documents, and that applications would take a week to process.

The new passports contain all the latest security features, and are printed in Leipzig, Germany.
