Serbia's water polo squad player Danilo Ikodinovic has undergone another surgery and is still in a critical condition, doctors say. Ikodinovic was involved in a traffic accident two days ago when he sustained life threatening injuries. Ikodinovic stable, but still critical One of his arms, damaged in the accident, was operated on twice so far, while brain injuries are not of a kind that would require surgery, according to a Novi Sad clinic where he is treated. The Friday night crash on the Zrenjanin-Novi Sad road left the athlete with torn veins and nerves in his right arm, and injuries to his legs. MUP announced yesterday that the accident took place because Ikodinovic, driving a Yamaha motorbike, drove at an excessive speed, crashinginto a Yugo passenger car. Both were moving in the same direction, overtaking a tractor. But today, an organization known as the Serbian Committee for Traffic Safety said in a statement that "all circumstances related to the accident itself, such as the speed, manner of movement, psychological and physical state of those involved in the accident, conditions of the road and surroundings, possibilities of avoiding the crash and other, must be left for the courts to judge". However, notwithstanding their own recommendation, the committee continued to say that there was evidence that "the motorcycle driven by Ikodinovic did not hit the back of the car, but its left side, close to the back of the vehicle". This, the committee believes, "indicates that this car suddenly swerved into the motorcycle's path".
