Orban believes the EU could in this way protect himself and the future of its children.

In a video shot Romania, on the margins of an informal summit of the EU leaders, Orban said that discussions were focused on the future of Europe, but that without the opinion of "ordinary people" it is impossible to draw meaningful conclusions, MTI is reporting.

"We will learn their opinions at the elections," Orban said, adding that "what we can definitely say today is that Hungary is advocating that migration must be stopped."
