In Germany, this agreement was reached as part of the resolution of the government crisis.

If the German government confirms the agreement, "we will be obliged to take measures to avoid disadvantages for Austria and its people," the government in Vienna said.

It is added that Austria is ready to protect its borders especially in the south, those with Italy and Slovenia.
