Bosnia: Masked gunmen open fire at workers - reports

A shooting incident occurred on Friday on the Maricka-Rakelicki road in northwestern Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Banja Luka daily Nezavisne Novine's website has reported this, quoting the Serb entity (RS) public broadcaster, RTRS.

According to initial reports, an SUV overturned on this road, and when local residents approached it to offer assistance to those inside, "a number of persons wearing balaclavas emerged from the vehicle and started shooting at them."

The website said later that three masked persons in fact shot at nearby road maintenance workers, but that nobody was injured. They set the vehicle on fire and fled the scene after the incident.

The report also quoted unofficial information that the three were robbers "escaping from Sanski Most."

The police blocked the area and all access roads leading the site.
