28 passengers sustained more moderate injuries. A local boy, who was an eyewitness to the crash, was also lightly injured.

The bus carried 46 passengers. It has been confirmed that all victims were Romanian nationals.

The accident happened around 17:00 CET on Sunday when the bus exited a tunnel and drove through the guardrail on the left side and fell down a ravine some 30 to 40 meters from the road.

The cause of the accident remains officially unknown at this time, but Podgorica-based daily Vijesti is reporting that the bus was speeding on a slippery road.

One of the passengers, Carmen Dorobec from Bucharest, told the newspaper: "We were supposed to stay in Montenegro five days. Everything happened fast, the driver was driving a little faster when the bus skidded."

The media in Podgorica said that more than 100 citizens volunteered to donate their blood upon learning of the accident.
