Croatia and Bosnia sign border traffic agreement

BRUSSELS Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina signed inter-state agreements in Brussels on Wednesday to enable unobstructed traffic of people and goods from July 1. This is when Croatia becomes a member of the European Union, Beta is reporting. Croatia and Bosnia sign border traffic agreement Croatian Foreign Minister Vesna Pusic and the head of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Vjekoslav Bevanda, signed a contract on border crossings and an agreement on border traffic. At the same time, the foreign ministers of the two countries, Zlatko Lagumdzija and Vesna Pusic, signed a joint statement about the interpretation and implementation of the agreement on free transit through the territory of Croatia to the Port of Ploce, and through the territory of Bosnia-Herzegovina to Neum. These agreements, which were reached with the help of the European Commission, will establish the international border crossings Metkovic 2-Bijaca and Gradiska in the north. The crossings will be equipped for sanitary and veterinary inspections, and goods traffic will also go through them. The agreement on border traffic makes it easier to pass through the crossings, for citizens of both countries, who live in the five-kilometer belts on each side of the border, and leaves the possibility for the subsequent expansion of this belt to 30 kilometers.
